Most colleges and universities make sure that their students get training abroad through internships. Although they can get internships locally, it is always better to get an internship in another country. They partner with universities in other countries so that it is much easier to send their students abroad. My friend Rowland is a product of an exchange student internship program. He was sent to Singapore to study and finish his high school and will continue to go to a college or university there. Rowland is the smartest student in the class so it was no surprise that he got the internship. He frequently comes home because the curriculum in Singapore is very different than that of the Philippines. It was very hard for him to adjust at first but he eventually got used to it. His parents visit him when they can because it can be very lonely to be in a foreign land alone.
